About

Quazar is a Dutch electronic music group from Utrecht and Amsterdam that initially formed around Gert Van Veen and Erik van Putten in 1989. Van Veen, who also worked as a music journalist for De Volkskrant newspaper, performs under the alias MG, while van Putten goes by Eric Cycle. The group has expanded over time to include members Daphne, Farida Waal, and Jobbe Strobosch. Quazar began releasing electronic music commercially in 2010.

The group produces music spanning techno, tech house, house, and trance, with releases on Superstition Records dating from 2010 to 2026. Their sound ranges from peak time driving techno to raw, deep, and hypnotic variations across both techno and trance genres. Quazar's productions cover multiple tempo ranges and energy levels, moving between the harder-edged driving techno suitable for peak hours and deeper, more hypnotic material that works in extended sets. Their catalog demonstrates versatility across house music's broader spectrum, from straightforward tech house to more atmospheric trance-influenced tracks.
