Random Access Memory

Random Access Memory Artist Bio

random access memory (also known as zRAM) is an experimental synthpop band based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Frontman Kentifyr (who created ram in 2001) is also well-known for his one-man revitalization of Albuquerque’s goth scene, as both resident DJ at Albuquerque’s Thursday night club and the creator of the promotion company Dark Beat Productions. The final live incarnation of RAM featured two drummers; Pvck, who also makes his own music under the moniker Autopoesis, and brian botkiller, who began playing with the group in the mid-2000’s. Both played stand-up electronic drum kits with the addition of Industrial percussion utilizing military ration ten gallon drums, air conditioning equipment, and other found pieces, with Kentifyr providing vocals and sequencing.

random access memory released a self-titled CD in 2004. The group changed its name to zRAM shortly before its demise. At the 2007 Oscillation electronic music festival, zRAM played their last show to a packed house at the Cell Theater in Albuquerque, NM. Kentifyr states that at this time he has no plans to continue on with this project.
