Rex The Dog

Rex The Dog is the electronic music project of UK producer Jake Williams, who has been active in the scene since the 1970s. Williams also operates under the aliases JX, Mekka, and Oblik, with his Rex The Dog moniker launching its modern incarnation in 2015 with releases on Kompakt. The project has maintained a steady output with 19 releases spanning from 2015 through 2025.

Rex The Dog delivers house and techno productions that range from melodic house to peak-time driving techno, with frequent ventures into indie dance and nu disco territories. The project has found homes on respected labels including Kompakt, Soft Computing, Correspondant, Three Six Zero, and [PIAS] ÉLECTRONIQUE. Williams crafts tracks that move between the warm, melodic sensibilities of indie dance and the harder-edged energy of peak-time techno, making his releases suitable for both intimate club moments and larger dancefloor contexts.
