Roman Fluegel

Roman Flügel is a German electronic music producer born in Darmstadt on May 5, 1970, who established himself in Frankfurt before relocating to Berlin. Active since the early 1990s, he co-founded the influential labels Ongaku Musik, Klang Elektronik, and Playhouse, and currently operates Sister Midnight. Flügel has recorded under several aliases including Eight Miles High, Roman IV, and ro70, demonstrating his versatility across different electronic music contexts.

Flügel's sound spans deep house, peak time techno, tech house, and minimal deep tech, with releases primarily appearing on Running Back since 2009. His productions range from driving techno cuts designed for peak-time dance floor moments to deeper, more introspective house tracks that showcase his background in ambient and IDM production. Between 2009 and 2020, his nine releases on Running Back have consistently delivered both club-ready tracks and full album works, reflecting his ability to craft both immediate dance floor tools and more considered long-form electronic compositions.
