Ron Carroll

Ronald Michael Carroll is a Chicago-born house music producer and vocalist who began his career in 1971. The American artist assembled the vocal group Testament in 1999 and operated Body Music Chicago (BMC), his own label imprint. Carroll performs under several aliases including RC Groove, The RC Groove Project, and Ron Carroll's Black Pearl, with his first tracked release appearing in December 2011.
Carroll's sound spans house, tech house, deep house, funky house, and Afro house, drawing from Chicago house and vocal house traditions. He releases music on labels including Category 1 Music, Great Stuff Recordings, Groove Culture, Milk & Sugar, and his own Carrillo Music LLC. With 55 releases tracked through October 2025, Carroll's productions typically feature his vocal work layered over groove-driven house rhythms, maintaining the soulful Chicago house aesthetic across tempo ranges suitable for both underground and commercial dancefloors.
