San Miguel Artist Bio

1. The East Berlin native San Miguel started his electronic music career in early ages. Infected by the underground sounds of that legendary era, the young and enthusiastic dj and producer quickly developed his skills to a professional level and established his first successful vinyl record label a few years later. As a pronounced philanthropist and nature lover he wanted to find a way to share his passions in a more organic atmosphere and founded „Einfach Liebe“ as a community of different artists and a pool for a variety of events such as Open Airs, Workshops and healing arts.

San Miguel’s musical signature is defined by his various interests and influences of his travels through time and space which manifests itself into a soundscape of hypnotic spheres and deep driven basses. Often combined with folkloric elements and a range of organic instruments, his sound weaves unique tales that carries the audience gently and straight into an ecstatic dance experience. He is a master for clashing the styles and shows a deep instinct for timing and suspense as he draws a bow throughout his mixes that will move any dance-floor that thrives on powerful global beats and psychedelic rhythms. That special composition led him release his own productions on labels such as Lump Records, Underyourskin Records, Pipe & Pochet, LNDKHN, Cosmic Awakenings, Serafin Audio Imprint and Souq Records.

Together with LaniAkea, he launched in 2018 his second electronic music label „MŎNɅDɅ“ based by the philosophical monad as expression of the pure eternal essence which exists in every living being. The label represents a playground for handpicked and visionary electronic sounds that are offering vibrational healing through love and passion. As „Mônada Project“ the two free spirits San Miguel & LaniAkea are leading a PA- rental, hosting sound- healing journeys, gatherings, festivals and co-create together with the global tribe. All in the mission of LOVE. ♥

2. Jake San Miguel (born May 8th, 1987), better known by his stage name SAN MIGUEL, is a Mexican-American rapper hailing from the state of Texas. Common themes in his music include a life of struggle and crime, often relating to his personal experiences. SAN MIGUEL debuted with “From Start 2 Finish”, a mixtape composed of various songs recorded between 2006 and 2008. He released his second mixtape, “The Investment”, in January of 2011. SAN MIGUEL is currently working on an untitled album.

SAN MIGUEL was born in Weslaco, Texas. He moved to North Texas as a young child, bouncing from city to city. Born into an unstable household, coming from a family of murderers and drug addicts alike, SAN MIGUEL grew up at an early age. A skillful athlete, he was a star running back in high school. He eventually went on to play football in college at Ottowa University, in Kansas. Unable to separate himself from the environment he grew up in, SAN MIGUEL’s success was short-lived, as he dropped out of college shortly after his enrollment and resorted back to a life of crime.

Forced to abandon his “street dream”, SAN MIGUEL lost all he had and was encouraged by family and friends to consider music professionally. He had always rapped and freestyled throughout high school, but he had never taken it seriously. Inspired by a friend, a younger artist who was making music professionally, SAN MIGUEL began to consider the possibility and began writing songs.

SAN MIGUEL attributes his motivation to his two sisters and mother. When asked why he was pursuing a career in music, SAN MIGUEL replied, “I got two sisters and my mom to take care of. I got them to think about.”
