Santiago Salazar, also known as DJ S2, emerged from Los Angeles in the 1990s before relocating to Detroit to join Underground Resistance. The producer operates under multiple aliases including S², 057, and Asuka, reflecting his versatility across different electronic music contexts. Salazar began releasing material through Underground Resistance before establishing connections with other respected imprints.

Salazar's sound spans techno, minimal deep tech, and deep house, with releases appearing on Planet E and JTseries since 2009. His productions range from peak-time driving techno to more introspective electronica and downtempo material, demonstrating technical precision rooted in Detroit's second-wave underground movement. The artist maintains an active touring schedule across Europe and Japan, performing at venues including Berghain, Rex Club, Fabric, and Liquid Room Tokyo, while also appearing at festivals such as Detroit Electronic Music Festival and Metamorphos Japan.
