Shaded Explorer

Shaded Explorer is the main musical project of Italian producer Emanuele Pertoldi, who began releasing music in December 2014. The Kabalion and Midgar veteran operates under several aliases including S/EXP and Redundænt, and founded his own imprint Shaded Explorations. Pertoldi has released six records through 2025, establishing his presence in the ambient techno scene over the past decade.

His sound spans ambient through peak time driving techno, with releases appearing on Diffuse Reality Records and On Board Music alongside his home label. Shaded Explorer's productions range from deep hypnotic techno to full ambient works, often incorporating dub techno elements that bridge contemplative and dancefloor-ready material. His catalog includes both EP releases and full albums, demonstrating versatility across tempo ranges from beatless ambient pieces to driving techno built for peak hours.
