Shakedown

Shakedown is a Swiss house duo composed of brothers Stéphane and Sébastien Kohler, who perform under the aliases Stephan Mandrax and Seb K. The project originated in Lausanne in 1999, initially establishing itself within the trance and acid house scenes. The brothers also operate under the alias Ghost Dancer and began releasing on Defected Records in 2018.

Their sound encompasses house, deep house, tech house, and melodic house & techno, with seven releases on Defected spanning from 2018 to present. The duo's productions blend the driving elements of tech house with deeper, more melodic sensibilities characteristic of the contemporary house scene. Their tracks maintain the groove-focused approach typical of Defected's roster while incorporating the precision and electronic textures that reflect their trance background from the late 1990s.
