SND

SND is an electronic music duo from Sheffield, England, formed in 1998 by Mark Fell and Mat Steel. The group operates under the alias Blir and has established itself within the UK's experimental electronic scene over more than two decades of activity.

SND produces raw, deep, and hypnotic techno alongside broader electronic compositions, releasing material on Planet Rhythm and ECHO LTD as well as self-releasing works. Their sound focuses on glitch-influenced electronic music that maintains the stark, industrial aesthetics associated with Sheffield's electronic heritage. The duo's recent activity shows a concentrated burst of releases between 2022 and 2024, with seven releases appearing on Electrobuzz during this period, suggesting a renewed focus on techno production after years of experimental electronic work.
