Solarstone

Solarstone is a Birmingham-based group that began in 1994, originally consisting of Sam Tierney, Andy Bury, and Rich Mowatt. The project started as a trio with Tierney and Bury from 1996 to 1997, then continued as a duo with Mowatt and Bury until 2006, when it became Mowatt's solo project following Bury's departure. The group has been producing and releasing music since 1997, spanning trance, progressive, and chillout genres.

Solarstone's sound encompasses trance as the primary genre, alongside progressive house, deep house, and Afro house elements. The project releases on Black Hole Recordings, with 11 releases documented between 2019 and 2026. Their music operates within the main floor trance spectrum while incorporating house influences across various subgenres, creating tracks suitable for peak-time sets as well as deeper, more progressive moments in a DJ's selection.
