Soul Mass Transit System

Soul Mass Transit System is a Leeds-based duo comprising Jordon Saxton and Baby J, operating since 2022. Saxton also produces under the aliases Viers, Unklone, and LK, while the project focuses specifically on UK garage and bass music. The group has released eight tracks since their debut in July 2022, establishing themselves within the UK's underground electronic scene.

Their sound centers on UK garage and bassline, incorporating elements of deep house, breaks, and UK bass across a tempo range that spans from deep house's 120-125 BPM to garage's characteristic 130-140 BPM. Soul Mass Transit System releases on Time Is Now Records, Gimme A Break Records, and INSTINCT UK, with their music characterized by rolling basslines, syncopated rhythms, and the skippy percussion patterns typical of contemporary UK garage. Their output maintains the genre's dancefloor focus while incorporating deeper, more atmospheric elements that reflect the duo's house music influences.
