Soulwax

Soulwax is a Belgian group from Ghent formed in 1993, centered around brothers David Dewaele and Stephen Dewaele. The band includes additional members Igor Cavalera and Stefaan Van Leuven, and operates under the alias Kawazaki. The Dewaele brothers also run the Deewee label and gained recognition with their album Much Against Everyone's Advice before expanding into electronic music production through their 2manydjs project.

Their electronic releases span indie dance, deep house, and electronica, appearing on Deewee, Skint Records, and Play It Again Sam since 2018. Soulwax produces both uptempo dance tracks and more atmospheric electronic compositions, blending their rock background with house and electronic elements. Their Deewee releases showcase a more experimental approach to dance music, while their output on established labels like Skint Records tends toward club-focused indie dance and house productions that bridge alternative rock sensibilities with electronic music production.
