Steve Murphy

Steve Murphy is the alias of Italian producer Mattia Favaretto, based in Venice. He began releasing music in 2012 and co-founded both Muscle Records and Metal Position Records. Favaretto also operates under the alias The Night Flyer, maintaining an active presence across multiple projects within Italy's underground electronic scene.

Murphy's sound spans house and peak time techno, with releases distributed across labels including Chiwax, Hot Haus Recs, Wilson Records, Domina Traxxx, and Lobster Theremin. His productions lean toward driving, club-focused material, incorporating both deep house grooves and harder-edged techno elements designed for peak-hour sets. Between 2012 and 2019, Murphy released fifteen tracks that demonstrate his range from deeper, atmospheric cuts to high-energy dancefloor weapons, establishing him as a versatile producer capable of delivering both warming-up tracks and prime-time bangers.
