Sub Basics is the alias of Tom Wood, a Kent-based producer and DJ who launched his recording career in April 2020. Wood operates across multiple electronic music genres and has released 16 tracks through labels including Temple of Sound, Modern Hypnosis, Wisdom Teeth, and TH Tar Hallow since his debut.
Sub Basics' sound spans drum and bass, techno, and house, with productions ranging from raw and hypnotic techno to peak-time driving cuts. His releases on Temple of Sound showcase deeper techno explorations, while his work demonstrates versatility across tempo ranges from breakbeat-driven drum and bass to four-on-the-floor house rhythms. Wood's productions incorporate elements of dubstep and wonky bass music, creating tracks that work for both underground club environments and more experimental dance floors.
