Sunlightsquare

Sunlightsquare is the project of Italian musician Claudio Passavanti, who operates as a group from Milano. Passavanti studied orchestral composing and arranging at The Grove School of Music in Los Angeles and initially worked as a jazz pianist, recording his first solo album at age 21 with John Patitucci and Dave Weckl at Chick Corea's Mad Hatter Studios for Rossodisera/Sony Italy. He later moved to London at age 30, where he found new inspiration in the city's electronic music scene and began releasing under the Sunlightsquare moniker in 2016.

Sunlightsquare produces Afro House, Deep House, and Nu Disco tracks that blend organic instrumentation with electronic elements. The project has released six records on labels including MoBlack Records, Yoruba Records, and Open Bar Music since 2016. His sound draws from his jazz background while incorporating African percussion and house rhythms, creating tracks suitable for both dancefloor moments and deeper listening sessions. The music typically operates in mid-tempo ranges with warm, melodic progressions that reflect his compositional training.
