Swoy is the electronic music project of Maxim Butylev, a Moscow-based DJ and producer who began releasing music in 2016. Born in 1982, Butylev also operates under the aliases S.K.A.M., Maxim Butylev, and Makebo. Over the past eight years, he has built a catalog of 11 releases across multiple labels in the underground electronic scene.
His productions span minimal/deep tech, deep house, and tech house territories, with releases appearing on labels including Aesthetic, OGE, EWax, Why So Series, and Modeight. Swoy's sound operates in the deeper, more restrained corners of house music, incorporating microhouse elements and minimal techno influences. His tracks maintain the subtle groove and stripped-back aesthetic that characterizes Moscow's electronic underground, delivering sets that work equally well in intimate club settings and extended DJ sessions.
