Telefon Tel Aviv

Telefon Tel Aviv formed in New Orleans in 1999 as a duo comprising Charles Cooper and Joshua Eustis. The group signed to Chicago's Hefty Records and released their debut album in 2001, followed by "Map Of What Is Effortless" in January 2004. After Cooper's death in January 2009, Eustis continued the project as a solo act, relocating to Los Angeles.

Their sound spans electronica, downtempo, ambient techno, and IDM, with releases on Ghostly International between 2010 and 2019. The project's six releases on Electrobuzz show an evolution from their early ambient and synthpop foundations into deeper territories, incorporating deep house, minimal tech, and tech house elements. Their music operates across varied tempos, moving from downtempo's relaxed pace to the driving rhythms of tech house, maintaining atmospheric qualities rooted in their ambient techno origins.
