The Field

The Field is the project of Swedish electronic musician Axel Willner, based in Stockholm. Willner also produces under the aliases Lars Blek and Cordouan, and has been releasing music since 2007. His work appears primarily on Kompakt, the influential Cologne-based label known for minimal techno and electronic releases.

The Field's sound spans ambient techno, electronica, and downtempo, creating hypnotic compositions that blend repetitive loops with evolving textures. His releases on Kompakt demonstrate a methodical approach to electronic music construction, building tracks through gradual layering and subtle progression. The music operates across different energy levels, from ambient pieces suitable for home listening to driving techno tracks that work in peak-time DJ sets.
