The Nautilus Project

The Nautilus Project is the electronic music alias of Marcel Frehse, a producer from Zittau who founded the project in 2008. Frehse also records under the aliases Marcello van Freese and Nemo, with his first release under The Nautilus Project appearing in March 2010. The project maintains an official website and Bandcamp page, positioning itself as an open music project that has evolved beyond its initial nautical and atmospheric nature themes.

The Nautilus Project operates across multiple electronic genres, producing dub techno, peak time driving techno, minimal deep tech, and tech house tracks. Between 2010 and 2014, Frehse released five records under this moniker, demonstrating a range that spans from the deeper, atmospheric territories of dub techno to the more driving energy levels of peak time techno. His sound explores both the contemplative depths of minimal productions and the dancefloor-focused dynamics of tech house, creating music that moves between introspective listening experiences and club-ready tracks.
