The Temper Trap

The Temper Trap is an Australian indie rock group that formed in Melbourne in 2005. The band consists of five members: Dougy Mandagi on vocals and guitar, Jonathon Aherne on bass, Lorenzo Sillitto on lead guitar and keys, Toby Dundas on drums and programming, and Joseph Greer on keyboards and guitar. The group began releasing electronic music in December 2015, marking a departure from their indie rock origins into dance music territory.

Their electronic output spans melodic house & techno, deep house, progressive house, and Afro house, with occasional dance-pop crossover tracks. The Temper Trap releases on labels including 2DIY4, So Track Boa, Infectious Music, Renaissance Records, and Experts Only. Their sound combines the melodic sensibilities of their rock background with house and techno production, creating tracks that work across both underground and more commercial dance floors. The group has maintained consistent electronic music output from 2015 through 2025, with ten releases demonstrating their sustained commitment to dance music production.
