The Timewriter

The Timewriter is Jean Frank Cochois, a producer from Darmstadt who operates out of Frankfurt am Main. Born in 1970, Cochois began his electronic music career after classical training from age 13 and involvement in multiple band projects and theatre music collaborations. He produced his first album "The Timerewinder" in 1994 and has released music under several aliases including Elias, Drain Pipe, and Papillon. His catalog on Electrobuzz spans from 2009 to present with 21 releases across multiple imprints.

Cochois crafts deep house and tech house productions that range from contemplative album tracks to peak-time driving techno cuts. His music appears on established labels including Plastic City, Tronic Soundz, and AEYA Records, with his sound incorporating both electronic elements and acoustic instruments from his classical background. The Timewriter's output covers the full spectrum of house and electronica tempos, delivering both introspective deep house sessions and harder techno floor-fillers that maintain his signature blend of electronic production with organic musicality.
