Theoretical Speed

Theoretical Speed is the Detroit-based duo comprising Ryan Crosson and Ben Parris, who began releasing music together in 2020. The project represents a collaboration between two established figures in Detroit's electronic music scene, with their debut release appearing on Visionquest in July 2020.

The duo produces minimal and deep tech alongside deep house, house, tech house, and UK garage variations. Their releases appear exclusively on Visionquest and its special editions imprint, showcasing a sound that spans from stripped-back minimal grooves to more driving tech house rhythms. Theoretical Speed's productions typically maintain the deeper, more contemplative approach associated with Detroit's underground house scene, with their UK garage excursions adding bass-heavy elements to their catalog. Their output demonstrates consistent quality across five releases since 2020, with their most recent work appearing in late 2025.
