Thomas Fehlmann

Thomas Fehlmann, born in 1957 in Zurich, Switzerland, moved to Hamburg in 1979 where he founded the avantgarde band Palais Schaumburg with Holger Hiller. After relocating to Berlin in 1984 and the band's dissolution in 1985, Fehlmann established himself as a solo electronic producer, releasing material under aliases including Ready Made, Rotogravures, and Flowing. In 1988, he founded the Teutonic Beats label, which showcased early work from influential German electronic artists including Jörg Burger, Wolfgang Voigt, Moritz von Oswald, Sun Electric and Westbam.

Fehlmann's sound spans electronica and downtempo through to tech house and peak-time driving techno, with releases on prominent labels Kompakt and Tresor Records since 2013. His production style moves fluidly between contemplative downtempo compositions and more driving leftfield house and techno tracks, demonstrating range from ambient-influenced electronica to club-ready peak-time material. Active in releasing new material through 2025, Fehlmann continues to work across multiple tempos and moods while maintaining connections to both Berlin's experimental electronic scene and established techno institutions.
