He is the son of trance DJ Marco V and has collaborated with his father on multiple occasions. Verkuijlen began releasing music under the Thomas Newson moniker in April 2022, accumulating 35 releases across various electronic music labels.

Thomas Newson produces tech house, house, minimal/deep tech, and Afro house tracks that span multiple energy levels and tempos. His releases appear on established labels including Toolroom and Toolroom Trax, Armada Subjekt, Voltaire Music, and The Myth of NYX.
