Tiesto

Tijs Michiel Verwest, known professionally as Tiësto, hails from Breda, Netherlands and has operated as a Dutch electronic music producer and DJ since 1969. He founded the trance label Black Hole Recordings in 1997 alongside Arny Bink, establishing himself within the Dutch electronic music infrastructure. Tiësto has released music under several aliases including Roze, Stray Dog, and Wild Bunch throughout his career. From 1998 to 2006, he maintained a collaborative relationship with producer Dennis Waakop Reijers, who handled the majority of track production during this period.

Tiësto's contemporary output spans tech house, mainstage, melodic house & techno, trance, and afro house, with releases appearing on Musical Freedom, Atlantic Records, Capitol Records, and Insomniac Records since 2022. His recent catalog demonstrates a shift toward higher-energy dance floor formats, moving away from his trance origins into more commercially-oriented electronic music territories. The artist maintains consistent release activity, with 16 documented releases between July 2022 and December 2025, indicating an active touring and production schedule that caters to both mainstream festival circuits and club environments.
