Tom Ellis

Tom Ellis, born Thomas J. Ellis in Dolgellau, North Wales in the early 1980s, established himself as a producer and DJ after founding his first record label Trimsound in 2004 alongside his friend Leif with support from the Mindtours/Freerotation collective. He managed the sublabel Minordust between 2006 and 2012 before launching his solo venture In Modo Di in 2016. Ellis also produces under the aliases Ekkis and Soulstatedub, with his first tracked release appearing in February 2010.

Ellis operates across the deeper spectrum of house music, working primarily in deep house, tech house, and minimal/deep tech territories while occasionally venturing into peak time driving techno. His 24 releases span labels including Nite Grooves, Danse Club Records, 22 Digit Records, Organic-Music, and Minibar. His productions typically maintain the contemplative, rolling energy characteristic of the UK's deeper house scene, drawing from his Welsh origins and connection to the Freerotation festival community. Ellis continues releasing through 2026, indicating sustained activity in the underground house circuit.
