Villamizar

Jorge Alberto Villamizar Iregui operates in electronic music under the name Villamizar, representing a departure from his established career as a Colombian Latin pop and rock musician. Born in Montería, Córdoba in 1970, Villamizar gained recognition as the leader of the multi-ethnic rock band Bacilos between 1995 and 2006. He began releasing electronic music in June 2019, marking a significant genre shift from his Latin American musical roots.

Villamizar produces tech house and techno tracks that span from minimal deep tech to peak time driving sounds. His releases appear on labels including Variety Music, Natura Viva Black, 76 Recordings, Duff Music, and Arawak Records, with nine releases documented through 2024.
