White Material Artist Bio

White Material is a collective and record label helmed by Quinn Taylor (Young Male) and DJ Richard. The two met while attending the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, both active in the local music scene that favored noise and experimentation. After relocating to Brooklyn, the label coalesced with successful releases by Taylor and Galcher Lustwerk and has since added cohorts Morgan Louis and Alvin Aronson.

Their output of “working man’s techno” (including the collaborative 12-inch) has earned acclaim from publications like Resident Advisor, Juno, and The Wire as well as shops like Honest Jon’s in London, Hard Wax in Berlin, and A-1 in Brooklyn.
