Yagya

Yagya is the production alias of Aðalsteinn Guðmundsson, an Icelandic producer based in Reykjavík who has been creating electronic music since the 1990s. Guðmundsson studied computer science at the University of Iceland and is a member of the Thule Musik collective. He also records under the aliases Plastic, Tree, and Zitron, and performs as half of the duo Sanasol.

Yagya produces dub techno, ambient, and leftfield house tracks that span from atmospheric downtempo to peak-time driving techno. His releases on Delsin Records between 2014 and 2019 showcase a sound that moves between beatless ambient textures and dubbed-out techno rhythms. The project draws from Iceland's stark landscapes to create spacious, melodic productions that work equally in home listening environments and club settings, with tracks ranging from sub-100 BPM ambient pieces to driving 130+ BPM techno cuts.
