Zoe Johnston

Zoë Johnston is a British vocalist from Nottingham who performs under the alias Zed J. Born in 1976, she joined the electronic group Faithless in 2001 at age 26, after working with downtempo duo Bent on their album 'Programmed To Love' where she wrote two songs and provided vocals for tracks including 'Swollen' and 'Private Road'. In 2000, she recorded the album 'A View From The Heights' as Zed J with Neon Heights.

Johnston's releases span trance, melodic house & techno, and dance-pop territories, with seven releases on Anjunabeats between 2025 and 2026. Her vocal work operates across the main room trance spectrum and extends into progressive house formats, delivering both uplifting and deeper melodic content suitable for peak-time and warm-up sets.
