For this 3 track EP, ONNO explores the more techno focussed part of his sound, while retaining that bottom heavy, hip hop inspired groove that he is renowned for. The title track, aptly named “Techno Jam” kicks off proceedings with a bang. Straight up heavy techno beats are broken up by a processed vocal snippet before bringing everything back full force. On the flipside we find “Come On”. For this track, ONNO follows a less-is-more approach, focussing on just one hypnotizing melody line and blending this with a looped hip-hop vocal to create a dancefloor cut. Digital only track “Breakbeat Bats” completes the package with some analog synths and heavy 909 rides. All in all, this is essential stuff.
