The low-slung B-side, Dive Into the Deepest, was quickly championed by Maceo Plex, who soon began playing his rework that opens the package here. Employing the irresistible bass line and select vocals from the original, Plex opts to up the tempo for a club-ready take embellished with analog melodies, bristling dynamics and wild modular sound design. The Greek-born producer and DJ has been making crowds move in the south scene for quite a while, now his works and influence are starting to spread north. The title track is a smooth house number with a disco vibe. The heavy bass line drives the track home while it pulls you into the groove. The percussion, while simple, is masterfully executed here – adding to the long list of reason why you’ll be hearing this one often. “The Pickle” feeds on the same vibe as “Sweet Berries” minus the disco-house but packs a deep and contagious bass line just as well.
