Juho Kahilainen is pretty good at giving labels a kick start, not only was he responsible for the first M_Rec Grey release, but he also helped inaugurate the now firmly established, and well respected, Prologue. Here, the Fin provides his second release for M_Rec’s sub-label, opening with throbbing bass pulses, Jean Michel Jarre “Oxygen II” styled synths and flutters of crackly noise. Bass pulses in “Xemx” take on more of an acid shape that’s reminiscent to early Plastikman, which can also be said about “Coronal Loop”, while “The Fuck Up” is Kahilainen providing a trippy curve ball to an otherwise linear, deep-driving EP.
