Berlin-based producer Philip Bader is about to release this impressive EP entitled ‘Keep Ya Head Up’ in January 2015 on Leftwing & Kody’s Lost Records.

Bader has been carving out quite the name for himself since he burst onto the scene in 2005 with the ‘Mes Amis’ EP on Electric Avenue Recordings. Although the talented producer has refined his earlier straight techno sound into a more tech-house vibe, the underlying desire to make quality tracks that will make people move is till clear to see. Since then he’s went on to release on labels like Stil Vor Talent, Saved Records, Dirtybird, Dantze and Moon Harbour Recordings to name but a few and this latest offering will do well to bolster his ever-expanding catalogue.

Opening up the EP is title-track ‘Keep Ya Head Up’. A straight up house roller that’s built with energetic drums, this is a no-nonsense cut that’s built to work the floor.

Next is ‘Blue Frog’. A little more playful, Bader lightens the tone with this more groove-based track that is controlled by a simple catchy synth melody and a nice vocal stutter that gives it a more funkier edge.

‘Handmade’ is a percussive driven cut that strips back Bader’s sound to show the workmanship of his drum lines. Drawn-out synth lines add a touch of drama to the proceedings and couple that with an old female soul sample that’s cut up creatively to keep the sound interesting yet floor-friendly, were onto another winner here.

VIVa man Detlef takes control of ‘Handmade’ next, his remix is a more solid 4/4 workout that gloriously rolls on for over 8 minutes. PAWSA is up next with his remix of ‘Blue Frog’. He softens the overall tone and opts for a solid groove that comes to life with rich, soaring synth melodies. Closing the EP is up and coming talent Kalyde who takes ‘Keep Ya Head Up’ on a more darker, mechanical journey. Sodden with resonating vocal cuts and robust beats, this remix is an impressive addition to Kalyde’s bio.

Philip Bader ‘Keep Ya Head Up’ EP is out on Lost Records on 2th Feb 2015.
