Label favourite Modular Project follow the success of their Its Time EP and step in with an energetic, rig-ready tool built with festival floors in mind. You Know What I Mean rolls out a springy break that remains tethered to a 4/4 kick and sub combo that immediately sets a hands-in-the-air tone. Progress marches on while a sprightly vocal comes in and at this point the mood is certifiably dialled. What follows is a build-up that sits the track comfortably in a big room space as 909 hats work to maintain a sense of urgency while vocals are stretched and mangled and a caustic 303 nips and snarls away. The track then builds sequential bridges between the next drop, each landing with a pupil-widening splash. Fun, functional acid – what more could you want!
