Athenaïs returns with a new version of “CHANGE”, reworked into a club remix by Shubo and released on coucou records. The original already had a bright, groovy feel, with disco arpeggiators, shimmering synths and sassy French vocals, carrying an ironic look at today’s world. Shubo brings her own background into the remix, shaped between South Korea, Thailand, Mexico and now Berlin, where she is active in the club scene. Over the years she has developed a sound sitting between Italo disco, cosmic electronics and more hypnotic club structures. She played in clubs like Panorama Bar and Circoloco nights, as well as festivals like Fusion, Garbicz and Burning Man. In this remix, that experience comes through in a very direct way. The groove is more steady and physical, the bassline heavier, the synths more open and wide. It feels clearly made for big sound systems and long DJ sets, where energy slowly builds and holds. The mood of “CHANGE” is still there underneath: irony, lightness, a bit of tension, but now carried through a more functional club framework. Less narration, more movement.
