A respected name within the underground for more than two decades, Nima Gorji now makes his long-awaited debut on Cadenza. Unmistakably Nima, ‘It’s True’ is rhythmic, groovy and delectably moving. One track, plenty of impact. A hypnotic melody sits subtly beneath blended basslines that bridge spacious atmospheres with rolling groove. Playful, deep, funky and just a little bit strange, the mood drifts between warmth and weirdness, all the way into the otherworldly. Crisp percussion rides claps, hats and swishing snares, as bubbling modular textures melt the atmosphere into darker shades. Vocal leading from the centre, a character becoming more familiar with each loop. Sometimes one track is all you need… ‘It’s True’ is the proof.
