CODE Records presents a release by Uncertain, who delivers four jackin’ techno tracks with driving energy. Hailing from Austria, Uncertain was formally known as Boriqua Tribez, and has been making hardgroove techno for over two decades. His exhilarating style combines fast-paced rhythms with analogue machine funk. This is his second release on CODE Records, adding to an impressive catalogue that also includes other imprints ranging from Radio Slave’s RSPX to Mark Broom’s Beard Man. Uncertain is also a skilled DJ, known for his three-deck sets, and he’s performed at the CODE parties at Fabrik in Madrid (Spain), which are linked to CODE Records. Run by Nuke and Cesar Almena, CODE events regularly play host to the world’s most iconic techno DJs, ranging from Carl Cox to Ben Sims. First up, “Distortion” has rippling synths, stabbing vocals, and a booming kick drum. “Fragment” has a menacing melody loop and punishing claps, underpinned by a rolling bassline. The title track, “Rupture” has a juddering melody stretched over a framework of gritty percussion. “Syntax” closes the release with a funky lead synth layered between brutal hi-hats and a heavy kick drum.
