Mark Broom is back on CODE Records with a jackin’ hardgroove techno single featuring remixes by Cesar Almena and Nuke. Hailing from the UK, Mark Broom is a techno veteran whose been active in the international scene since the ’90s. During his decades long career, he has helped shape today’s techno landscape as both a DJ and producer. Known as a dynamic producer who makes a range of styles, Mark Broom’s back catalogue is a treasure trove ranging from trippy minimal to old-school breakbeat, but he is best known for his timeless style of funk-infused techno. This is the second time Mark Broom has featured on CODE Records, and his original track is accompanied by separate remixes from CODE co-founders Nuke and Cesar Almena. “Knight” is the solo original track, and it layers tribal drums and punishing claps to form an intense framework for sampled disco strings and a rolling bassline. Cesar Almena’s rework focuses on the drums to create a high-velocity groove that smooths the original’s rough edges. Nuke’s remix strips back the drums to create an industrial version fused with disco funk.
