Behind the Techno (Peak Time / Driving) : Release Notes

SPECTRUM returns with the second instalment of its No Monochrome series, welcoming label debutants Jochem Hamerling, and Ae:ther & Vicius, alongside returning favourite Kaufmann for another forward- thinking collection of club material. Launched in 2024, the No Monochrome series debuted with standout contributions from Mitch de Klein, Rob Hes, Cyantist, and SHMN, setting the tone for a VA concept built around depth, energy, and individuality. Volume two continues that vision with three expansive cuts that each carve out their own distinct atmosphere. Kaufmann returns to the label following her acclaimed ‘Space Sheriff’ appearance with ‘Fluppe’. Dark, hypnotic, and unpredictable, the track rides on a nasty synth hook, trippy vocal textures, and a pounding kick drum, delivering another immersive trip from the German producer. Ae:ther and Vicius combine forces on ‘Roar’ , a track that lives up to its name from the very first beat. Built around a deep, guttural synth line and wrapped in sweeping emotive strings, the record surges forward in powerful waves, rising and collapsing with seismic intensity. It’s a dramatic and cinematic soundtrack designed for big-room moments and late-night tension alike. Closing the latest volume is longtime friend Jochem Hamerling with ‘Moves Ya.’ A rolling, acid tinged cut built around a snarling synth line, weighty low-end, and groove-led rhythm. Elevated by chords and a pounding kick drum, the track maintains a restless energy throughout, making it the perfect finale to another standout chapter in the No Monochrome series.
