Perc and Randomer reunite on Perc Trax to celebrate ten years of their collaborative EP ‘Igneous’ and to mark the occasion of their B2B set at the Boost Festival in Chicago on 18th July. ‘Igneous Edits’ does exactly what it says on the tin, new edits of two of the now classic Igneous tracks. First up Randomer takes ‘Flooring’ the breakout track from the original EP and fires up the BPM and energy with a peak time interpretation of the track without using any of the original mixes’ sleazy groove. Clean, but heavy, even when it was just a rough demo it was the biggest track in Perc’s recent sets. Label boss Perc tackles ‘Breezeblock’ keeping the cut up amen and hoover sounds, adding metallic hits for a modern interpretation of the classic Perc Trax industrial sound. A twisting arrangement moves the track forward as layer after layer of percussion patterns and noise drones join the track. Since the Igneous release in 2016 Randomer has gone from strength to strength teaming up with Clouds for the Headstrong label and recording for Anetha’s Mama Told You Imprint, whilst Perc has pushed on with Perc Trax releasing a string of well received albums including career highpoint ‘Bitter Music. Both artists continue to tour around the world, but their gig together in Chicago will be their first ever B2B set in the USA.
