Behind the House : Release Notes

GruuvElement’s has found the sweet spot with Desert, his debut release on Machaca La Membrana. An essential play in Luciano’s sets throughout the summer, the title track brings a fresh groove fused with jazzy undertones and a funky bassline. Samples build layer upon layer, from papping horns to the pull of the vocal. Fun-soaked and full of life. On the B-side, ‘Remember’ steers into a different world. Murky, mystical and just a little bit spooky. A stern, growling groove drives it, pummelling through minimal frequencies as hands clap and bells rattle above. Dark and devious, the other side of the story.
