Behind the House : Release Notes
Kristin Velvet delivers two slices of raw, uplifting machine funk, drawing on the unmistakable spirit of Chicago house and Detroit techno. Jack Is Back is a timeless exercise in groove, where the magic lies in the interplay of a few perfectly placed elements. Sizzling cymbals, rattling claps and a rubbery bassline lock into an infectious, catchy synth melody. Stripped back to the essentials, its pure, unadulterated house speaker-shakin body music. On the flip, Nutri-Score E sees raw synths ride a driving rhythm section, building into a hypnotic machine-funk workout that sits somewhere between classic house and techno. Two no-nonsense, retro-futurist DJ tools packed with energy, attitude and a whole lot of groove.
