Behind the Minimal / Deep Tech : Release Notes

Fantastic Friends Recordings presents Tape by label founder Nicolas Duvoisin, with four remixes from artists closely connected to the label: Christian Burkhardt, San Dee, Bread&Butter, and new Fantastic Friends artist Minube.nNicolas Duvoisin has been active behind the decks since his teens and founded Fantastic Friends Recordings in 2009. Over the years, his productions and DJ sets have moved between minimal house, house and techno, with a strong focus on percussion and bass.nOn “Tape”, Nicolas keeps the arrangement tight and functional, leaving enough space for the rhythm to develop naturally. The remix package then brings four very different approaches to the same track.nChristian Burkhardt, a longtime name in the European underground and a Fantastic Friends artist, brings his experience of complex rhythms and warm analogue textures to the remix.nSan Dee, the Miami-based DJ and producer already featured on Fantastic Friends, draws from a wide range of influences including electro, breaks, minimal and acid. His version adds another angle to Tape without losing its core.nBread&Butter, Romanian producer already established in the Fantastic Friends catalogue, is known for his stripped-back productions and detailed approach to the minimal sound. His remix brings his own rhythmic language to the track.nFinally, Minube joins the Fantastic Friends catalogue for the first time. The Moldovan producer comes with a sound built around raw rhythms, detailed structures and a strong club focus.nFour remixes, four different interpretations — with Tape at the centre of the package.n
