Behind the Minimal / Deep Tech : Release Notes
Pheek and Jos Lok are no strangers to one another. Their relationship began in 2015, when Jos became one of Pheek’s students. Over time, mentorship developed into friendship, and friendship naturally led to collaboration. This new project continues the path established by their previous release, combining warm, lush melodies with a strong sense of positivity and forward motion. Intricate percussion and fluid grooves give the music its energy, while the melodic elements remain inviting, playful, and full of character. On ‘Haunted Party,’ the duo embraces a tongue-in-cheek, Halloween-inspired atmosphere. The track evokes the mood of a 1960s film through a synthetic sound palette and a distinctly classic Detroit influence. Throughout the release, melody and rhythm work closely together without losing sight of the dance floor. Energetic, expressive, and immediately playable, these tracks were made for DJs-and for anyone looking to bring warmth, movement, and momentum to a party.
