Behind the Techno (Raw / Deep / Hypnotic) : Release Notes

Primary Colours swerves with a no-nonsense transmission from Niko Dalagelis – functional hypnosis for overworked machines and the last surviving neurons scattered across the dancefloor. This release also feels a little cosmic for the label. A genuine full-circle alignment as Satoshi Tomiie enters the Primary Colours orbit. One of the true OG architects of deep electronic music that has been humming through basements, headphones, and afterhours rituals for decades. His and Niko’s appearance here just makes sense. Ēkhō Forge opens the release with a steady, driving groove that lands with raw textured edges, oily dub stabs bleeding through gritty percussion and distorted vocal fragments, all suspended inside a submerged aesthetic. Ēkhō Resonance follows with a deep hypnotic call and response roller, metallic knockouts tethered against spooky detuned lines that unravel into a hypnotic dissociative haze, a strangely welcomed paranoia if you will. Satoshi Tomiie’s Remix refracts the original into a dubbed-out house roller, reanimating the central motif through modulated delays and that unmistakable scientific groove he’s mastered for decades. Some people leave fingerprints on dance music, but Satoshi has practically rewired it. Closing the release, Ēkhō Drift settles back into a rolling groove surrounded by those smooth shifting metallic layers that hitchhike around the rhythm, giving it a spacious hypnotic tone. Four well-crafted cuts, no excess – just pure, dub techno built for those translucent hours.
