Dave Angel, born David Angelico Nicholas Gooden on 13 May 1966 in Chelsea, London, operates as a British techno producer who founded the Rotation Records label. He co-promoted the Twisted Funk night with Darren Emerson and played on the pirate station Phase 1. Angel has released music under aliases including Sound Enforcer, XXX, and Dark Angel, with his brother being Monie Love and Baz.
Angel produces techno spanning peak time driving styles and raw deep hypnotic approaches, alongside tech house and house tracks. His releases appear on R&S Records, Bedrock Records, Halocyan, his own Dave Angel label, and Something Happening Somewhere. With 19 releases documented between 2009 and 2024, Angel delivers both the driving energy suitable for peak-time sets and the deeper hypnotic textures that work in extended DJ journeys. His sound draws from jazz influences including Miles Davis and Charlie Parker, reflecting his musical upbringing.
