Dig is an American alternative rock band founded in 1991 in Los Angeles. The group consists of Scott Hackwith, Dix Denney, Johnny Cornwell, Anthony Smedile, and Phil Friedmann. Despite their rock origins, the band began releasing electronic music in 2014, marking a significant genre shift from their alternative rock and grunge background.
Dig produces techno across peak time driving and raw deep hypnotic subgenres, alongside electronica and downtempo compositions. The group releases on ANAOH and Illegal Alien Records, with six electronic releases spanning from September 2014 to August 2024. Their techno productions maintain the energy and intensity characteristic of their rock background while adapting to electronic music's rhythmic structures and production techniques.
