Emmanuel Jal

Emmanuel Jal, born Jal Jok around 1980 in Tonj, South Sudan, transitioned from his origins as a musician and political activist into electronic music production with his first release appearing in October 2010. The South Sudanese artist has maintained consistent output over more than a decade, accumulating 40 releases across the electronic music spectrum with scheduled releases extending into 2026.

Jal operates primarily within Afro House and its adjacent genres, producing music that spans House, Melodic House & Techno, Tech House, and Indie Dance. His releases appear on established labels including MoBlack Records, Higher Ground, Wired, Innervisions, and Defected, positioning his sound within both the Afro House movement and broader house music scenes. His productions blend African rhythmic elements with contemporary house frameworks, creating music suitable for both underground club environments and festival main stages.
